Today, I’ll be talking about Shopify SEO tips and the best practice to increase your Shopify traffic.

If you have few bucks with you and really wish to invest on either Dropshipping or selling your own stuffs online, then Shopify is advisable but if you want to manage the few bucks with you, go for Woocommerce.

Yes, Shopify is a great ecommerce platform and like WordPress, you can easily optimized it for search engines like Google, Bing, Yandex and other search engines on the web.

When it comes to SEO, WordPress (or Woocommerce) is far better than Shopify!

Because, you own everything on Woocommerce including the domain, hosting, contents and everything. This makes it pretty easy to optimize and rank your WordPress website or Ecommerce platform easily.

But on Shopify, you are not the full owner of your ecommerce website because you built everything on Shopify main server instead of yours. By using shopify, you are going to be giving them both credits and glories as long as you are still there.

If it’s Woocommerce, you can use a free wordPress plugin known as Yoast or All-in-One SEO plugin. Any of these plugins will help you with the comprehensive onpage SEO guide.

Thankfully there are many related SEO tool on shopify as well. This tool are not too expensive and they are made to help you get better onpage SEO practice for your online store.

For example, if your shopify store is baggs.com and another website “chukloos.com” is having a hyperlink that leads to your own website “baggs.com”, it’s said you have gotten a backlink from another website.

There are two types of backlinks, we have “Do-follow” and “No-follow” backlinks.

Do-follow backlinks are very good and will boost your shopify SEO than “No-follow” backlinks.

Also, you must be careful when buying backlinks from other websites or blogs. Make sure the website or blog is somehow related to your niche (not really compulsory).

Another way to build backlinks is to comment in other people’s blogs or websites without spamming it. You can use <a href> HTML tag to hyperlinked website in the comment box.

Check the website Domain and Page Authority (DA and PA) as well.

High Domain and Page Authority are very important if you want to rank high on search engines. So, it will be better to get backlinks from high DA and PA websites.

9. Avoid Broken Links

Have you ever tried to visit a web page before but it led you to a broken page or an error “404” page? Those pages are called “Broken or Dead” pages while the link is also called “Broken or Dead” link.

Most people think that this is not a big deal but let me tell you that it’s more than big deal to your blog or Shopify SEO.

These dead links will be telling Google and other search engines that some of your pages are becoming irrelevant and are disrupting users (i.e., they are not providing any useful information again).

If google can detect a broken link on your page, they will start de-indexing those pages and thereby bringing problem upon your site SEO performance.

So, it’s better to make sure you avoid dead or broken links.

To avoid broken links, make sure you redirect (301 redirection) any of your deleted page to another page. This will also decrease the amount of people visiting your website or products’ pages and leaving immediately (also known as Bounce Rate).
